Where to find mightfish

I tried another avenue and went to Blasted lands, I started on the harbor in the Alliance southern Quest hub called Surwich. I fished for ten minutes, and only seemed to get fresh water fish. I found it out since I was clearly far from a fresh water source.

I levitated my self and went as far out as I could before I recieved a fatigue debuff. I cast out into the ocean, and managed to get the fish in 11 cast. Hope this helps everyone, good luck. Comment by 4. I dont know how long ago this changed but Azshara is not the place to go for these anymore. It is now a low level area. I spent 2 days here and didnt get 1. I went to Blasted lands and has 1 in 3 casts. Comment by Agreed - 60 fish caught in the Bay and no fish off the list. Comment by If you're fishing Darkclaw lobsters from Blasted lands, you're in the right position, it just has a significant low rate of fishing.

The comments above refer to.. All I know is U-shaped islands? Wasted time! Blizz have screwed the world as we KNEW it. Head for SwampofSorrows I caught the LgRawMightfishon second cast. I also caught DarkClawLobster same location on third cast along with heaps of other fishies, which no longer appear in Azshara.

Comment by Peter 19May Winter Squid? Still looking but fer sure, they ain't in Azshara. Comment by I apologize for hijacking your post, but it is for a good reason. To those of you fishing for hours upon hours in Azshara to catch this fish, stop now.

Since the Cataclysm expansion came out, Azshara was changed to a low level zone, and consequently, fishing in the area is now low level. The Blasted Lands is now a good area, or any other level 50ish area. Happy angling! Comment by Crystarion Took the portal from Stormwind to the Blasted Lands, flew to the beach by the Murloc's but after about 15 minutes and stacks of lobster's I still hadnt seen a Mightfish. So I flew south toward Surwich and stopped at the last red point on the map roughly 50 X 82, and 2 casts later got the Lg.

Comment by june 18 ashara no long the place to go for mightfish the very first post is way out of date. Got albacor, oily blackmouth and other really low level stuff there. Comment by June 18, Fished right off the ship at Comment by utoch Blasted Lands 5th cast, as mentioned above Azshara's zone level has changed.

So putting my money here. Comment by popszilla after hours of agonny fishing for this in azshara, went to swamp of sorrows and got it on the 10th cast. As well as Big Mouth Clam. As that was a mystery full of hints and drops by no longer existing NPC's that's nice to know too. August 09, I'll be back later to see if the Summer Bass will have changed into Winter Squid.

Comment by AliasWit Caught 12 in a little under an hour right on the pier at Surwich. Was fishing for lobster caught 50 to level cooking and was leveling fishing at the same time. Bonus achievement: Stood in the Fire. Hey, if I knew they were his fish I would have left them alone. Comment by lots of large raw mightfish in swamp of sorrows, I have also caught quite a few winter squid.

I have only caught the winter squid in Gadgetzan, until now. Comment by adding to my earlier post, the winter squid and large mightfish can be found on either side of the little mean guys on Misty Reed Strand. My fishing skill is only at , when I started last night, it was Comment by Looking to increase my cooking skill I went to one of the small islands off Swamp Of Sorrows in The Forbidding sea at 98, I got the Lobster Stew recipie after reading the above posts.

After 45 mins and casts I got a hit rate of 55 Fish and 45 Junk. I took a water walking elixir, and walked out far on the ocean until right before getting the "fatigue" debuff and fished there. I caught the mightfish after 8 minutes of constant casting. Probably don't need to do what I did, I just wanted to be sure I was well away from the fresh water around Surwich.

Comment by Blasted Lands. Level 31 toon with skill in fishing. Comment by Vonara As others said, the ocean of the Blasted Lands is the best place to get it. Before you teleport or fly out, bring an Elixir of Water Walking. Use this and go to the edge of the fatigue line.

Face outwards to the sea, and observe the water's surface. I cast until my bobber was in the furthest purple region and got it on the first cast after searching for several minutes closer to shore. Comment by fionawower I'm not sure if this can be fished anylonger from Azshara since the zone level change, I tried for a while with no luck.

I went to Blasted Lands for both this and Darkclaw Clam. That was much quicker. Comment by bethgrn Got mine as Vonara and Fionawower said.. Second cast got me a Large Raw Mightfish and it was the last I needed for my ach. Hope this helps and also it was at am Central if that is helpful. Comment by The ships are just off the coast by Bogpaddle in Swamp of Sorrows.

Comment by SnowRaker The drop rates wowhead gives suggests Swamp of Sorrows is the best place to farm this fish. I did not find that to be true as of patch 4. I farmed for this Large Raw Mightfish because it was the ingredient for: Mightfish Steak - the only recipe I had for getting my cooking skill up past I tried the suggestions off the coast of Swamp of Sorrows, the wrecked ships, and minor islands; and in Blasted Lands on the land point across from Surwich.

I got a couple off Bogpaddle in 30 minutes. Blasted Lands had a higher drop rate for me. I caught 5 near Surwich in 30 minutes, but the motherload was on the land point directly east from the Bloodwash Fighting Pits in the Red Reaches. Co-ordinates Edit: Added links and put the catches in list format. I was first fishing near Surwich and the Tainted Forest and nothing. When I moved to the eastern side of the Red Reaches I got it on the first cast and cast 4 more times and got 3 more.

Just find a spot along Misty Reed and cast. Should not take longer than 20 casts to get 1 for achievement. To level up your cooking, you will be finding more Darkwater Lobster here, which is just as good. Shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes to get everything for what you need. Big-Mouth clam and Winter Squid are also found here, which also counts toward the achievement. You will also find pools for Stonescale Eel.

Comment by Finalyzer i went there and fished. Comment by Finalyzer nevermind i just read the first comment lol. Comment by orsenhild was fishing outside gadgetzan for this fish. Comment by imthewalrus37 Fished at 50,86 in Blasted Lands. Caught it in 4 casts. Edit: My very next cast yielded my large raw mightfish! Comment by Went to the Blasted Land's Red Reaches and caught this fish in one cast, should try here first.

Comment by TimeTraveler Took suggestion on trying Swamp of Sorrows since I needed this one plus some others for both fishing and cooking achievements. Coastline out from Sorrowmurk, just stood there and cast for 20 minutes. Hope it helps. Comment by sith44 There is the island at 98,49 in Swamp of Sorrows - I hit a large raw mighfish on the first cast.

Check it out! Didn't seem to matter if I was casting facing land or out into the open sea. Maybe a time thing? Comment by rchutto I went out to 89,10 in Swamp of Sorrow's and fished for 30 mins. I think if you plan on fishing here you had better put on your favorite Pandora station because you are gonna be here a while. Not sure if the catch rate is better with higher fishing level. Comment by sephiroth Went to fish at around Fished when Winter Squid is available.

Over 10 minutes, the following was caught: 11 Stonescale Eel Comment by derpomatic For anyone looking to level cooking from to , go fish for Raw Whitescale Salmon instead which doesn't go green until Only drawback is having to fly all the way to Feralas for the recipe.

Alliance goes to Vivianna , Horde goes to Sheendra Tallgrass - cheers! Comment by treklover12 I was just fishing for raw spotted yellowtail in Tanaris and caught the large M rather frequently compared to the comments I have read. I guess it would be better to fish them there than in the eastern lands. Comment by Metzae I just spent half an hour fishing in pools in the Blasted Lands and couldn't find any of these.

But then I tried fishing outside of a pool and got it on the first try. Comment by VictusVeratus Confirmed Caught it on the 5th cast. Comment by Shashos Tried the Swamp of Sorrows first, near the little abandoned Murloc village on the coast and got zero Mightfish.

All I got were the fish found at the fishing level below just below that of Mightfish such as Redgill, etc. Fishing time was about half an hour before I gave up. Headed over to the coast of the Blasted lands, right where the drowned Gilnean worgen are located and finally got a Mightfish after about ten casts.

Live PTR. Classic TBC. Classic Theme Thottbot Theme. Comment by Thottbot Min. I had minimal problems but I even noticed that more of my fish got away than normal. Not too bad though. Comment by Allakhazam i have fishing, never seen this fish! Comment by Allakhazam I get them at a rate of 1 in 25 fish in the Bay of Storms. With enhancements, my skill is and some fish still get away. It may be rare for you because your skill is not high enough.

Comment by Allakhazam fishing? Comment by Allakhazam I've only gor a fishing skill of and I catch them all the time of the south coast at Stranglethorn in the Southern Ocean. Edited, Feb 10th pm by Oborozukuyo. Comment by Allakhazam caught some of these in bay of storms.. Comment by sallypantsiscool I did not have any luck finding this in Azshara, fishing for at least an hour in various locations. I caught one there in less than 2 minutes.

Comment by virtueavatar Unlikely to be worth cooking up Mightfish Steak unless you're raising Cooking skill. It requires hot spices and soothing spices to make, and Mightfish Steak doesn't vendor well at all. Comment by Angryem I fished for an hour or two in Azshara for these without lures , got none. Then tried Blasted Lands for an hour, nothing.
