You often have not the right surface when you need it and no time to experiment. If you want a specific one right off the bat, the spells are useful.

But I mostly want to test the advanced infusions, since the take two slots and source. You can craft 4 8 if you include rank 2s different infusions based on the elements. Rank 2's work the same way, but they require Source points, but in return your incarnate can use a Source skill.
