Same here bought a Samsung TV off them mainly due to the 5 year warranty this was back in June , would be interested to know warranty suitation I have no paperwork other then the email receipt. I did ask about this and they said I would get paperwork after the 1 year ran out, but obviously never did. This was supposed to have a 5 year guarantee but we hadn't had any paperwork until today. This morning, we received a 5 year guarantee from Safeguard Corporate Support Solutions Hopefully everyone else should receive theirs shortly.
Hi, I'm in the same boat with the 5 year warranty. I emailed the liquidators thanks bkfoto1 for the info and thought others might be interested in their response, especially as this thread is the top result if you google Robert Whyte Ltd now. Sorry it's not good news As you are aware, Robert Whyte Photographics Limited is now in liquidation as of 5 March and so is unable to enact or abide by any terms of contract agreed with its customers.
This means that there is no warranty for your television. Although this will not alleviate your grievance, I would state that even had you received your warranty at the point of purchase, it would still be null and void upon resolutions being passed to place the Company into Liquidation. Your only action in effect now, would be to sue the Company for breach of contract, but any award would only rank as an unsecured Creditor claim within the insolvency, and it appears on current information that no dividend will be paid.
I am sorry that I am unable to provide you with more positive news on the matter. Regards Chris Parry. Last edited: Mar 4, Blue Ranger Standard Member.
Thanks for the update Hoolit, I'm feeling quite lost now. I paid a little over a grand and was happy with the purchase happily under the impression that I'll have a 5 year warranty. Unfortunately I didn't receive any paperwork about who the warranty cover is with. I read Evenasus's post about receiving a letter from " safeguard corporate support solutions " and decided to try my luck. I googled them and gave them a call and asked if my cover was with them.
To my surprise they said I was covered and still had 2 years remaining!! Anyone else in a similiar position, give them a call - good chance you'll be covered too.
Their telephone number is Thanks a million! You saved me a few hundred quid I reckon! I got the 5 year extended warranty with a 55" Samsung TV I bought in Feb which has now developed a minor intermittent fault. When I found Robert Whyte had gone out of business I expected to be paying through the nose for an engineer to identify and fix the fault.
However, I called SafeGuard and they confirmed that they hold the warranty for my TV and it is still valid until One thing though.
I did actually receive all my paperwork - printed receipt and warranty claim instructions. However, those instructions only told me to call Robert Whyte in the event of a fault, and so I assumed that they had underwritten the warranty themselves but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Anyone else in the same situation should certainly check with SafeGuard. Katyalmond Novice Member. Word of warning about Corporate Support Solutions. I have an extended warranty with them for one of my appliances. From the outset this machine has been troublesome and each time I have contacted CSS they have taken an average of three weeks to put things right. The lack of communication from customer services has been infuriating and every time I have had to hassle them to get the part fixed.
Now, in the space of a few months the same problem has reoccured and they refuse to admit that there is something inherently wrong with the product, instead I have to wait for the engineer to come out up to seven working days , wait for the part to be ordered and delivered up to ten working days and then wait for the engineer to fit me in his schedule Who knows how long that is?
All in all a frustrating situation made worse by the unhelpful and inflexible attitude of those in CSS. Eric Distinguished Member. Not bad, just over 2 years old! I dont have jpegs or sarcastic gif's to add! You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads N. GP surgeries.
