The forces of evil rise up and gather with renewed strength as a rejuvenated Sylar joins them in their attempt to destroy Earth once and for all. Minutes after Nathan's shooting, a revelation about the gunman's identity forces Peter and Matt to come to terms with a stark new reality. Sylar attacks the Company's headquarters and discovers Level 5, where the most violent offenders are kept under observation.
Angela sends in HRG and his powerful new partner to defuse the situation when a group of villains take hostages at a bank. Peter tries to prevent his vision of an apocalyptic future from coming to pass by making use of a dangerous new ability.
Claire closes in on her first target, an escaped Level 5 prisoner named Stephen Canfield, who can produce black holes. Knox and Daphne try to lure Hiro and some of the others to Pinehearst. When Peter visits the rival company, he's shocked by what he finds. Trapped by an increasingly dangerous Suresh, Nathan and Tracy struggle to free themselves from the mutant doctor's deadly grip. Sylar feels guilty about his murderous deeds, but Elle and HRG stand in the way of his redemption.
Nathan learns that his father is alive -- and trying to destroy the world -- and Arthur orders Knox and Flint to round up Peter and Claire. Nathan and Peter head to Haiti to find the one man who can put a stop to their father's evil plot. As the eclipse continues to affect the heroes' powers, Noah faces off against Elle and Sylar. Peter and the Haitian attempt to defeat Arthur once and for all, but Sylar gets in the way. After teaming up against their father, Peter and Nathan face off against each other -- with dramatic consequences.
The heroes set out to make a fresh start, but Claire's efforts are cut short when she learns that Nathan is up to no good again. With Nathan and his agents on the hunt for people with powers, the heroes are forced to flee. Sylar and Luke set out on a road trip in search of Sylar's father, with Nathan's agents hot on their trail.
Knocked out by a spiked drink, Noah is captured and held hostage by the heroes. A tip from Rebel sends Matt and Peter racing to Building 26 to save Daphne and snag documents that detail the government's plans. Sylar's quest to find his father finally comes to a close, and Hunter plots to expose the Petrelli family secrets and take over Nathan's operation.

Once Nathan's ability is revealed, he and Claire seek refuge in Mexico, and Danko teams up with a highly unlikely partner. As Danko's war against the superhumans kicks into high gear, his relentlessness puts someone close to him in harm's way. Angela dredges up a fount of repressed memories with help from her sons, and Mohinder stumbles upon long-lost secrets in his late father's history.
As Hiro and Ando plot to take down Building 26, Nathan works to undo the damage caused by his scheme. Nathan struggles to stop Sylar from meeting the president and setting off a catastrophic chain of events.
The saga ends in this final season as Hiro, Peter, Claire and the other heroes continue to come to grips with their supernatural abilities. Recent events have all the heroes looking for answers. Claire tries to start over at college, but she hits a snag. Hiro embarks on a new mission to undo the wrongs of the past, and HRG finds a compass which ultimately leads to the Carnival.
As Peter's life continues to hang in the balance, he distracts himself by saving the lives of others. Hiro's health continues to deteriorate. Angela takes a gamble by helping the new Nathan regain his memory. Self-discovery rocks their world as our Heroes encounter new abilities, try to recall past lives, and stumble upon an unexpected kiss.
